HIGH-LEVEL EVENT ON 8TH OF JULY: EARTH OVERSHOOT DAY 2014 IN BRUSSELS

It is our great pleasure to invite you to join GLOBE EU, Global Footprint Network, Club of Rome EU Chapter and IUCN EU Representative Office in observing the Earth Overshoot Day with a high-level conference ‘Green Growth, Innovation and Finance’, which is to be held on 8th of July 2014 (10.30-18.00) at the European Parliament in Brussels (room PHS3C050).

The Earth Overshoot Day marks the day when our societies have globally exhausted the resources of our planet for one year. Join us in observing this day and contributing to the debate on how to prevent the Earth Overshoot Day from happening earlier every year. Together with academics, international organizations, civil society representatives, and forward-looking businesses we will address the opportunities for green growth, innovation and greening of the financial system, as well as how to enhance European competitiveness in an increasingly natural resource constraint world, while moving towards the circular economy and sustainability.

We sincerely hope that you will have the chance to participate in this conference. Kindly let us know whether you will attend by sending an email to GLOBE EU coordinator Mr. Jaakko Virkkunen (sirpa.pietikainen-office at europarl.europa.eu). In case you need an access badge to the Parliament, please also indicate your date of birth, nationality, type of ID and the number of ID in the email.

We are looking forward to your response.

With best regards,

The Club of Rome EU Chapter
