NEW REPORT TO THE CLUB OF ROME

As part of the 50th anniversary of the Club of Rome a new report by Anders Wijkman and Ernst von Weizsäcker will be presented in Brussels, in collaboration with the European Policy Centre, on Thursday 12 April at 10:30. The authors will discuss how a ‘prosperous future for all’ requires that economic well-being be largely decouples from the destruction of natural resources, especially in agriculture, and the pollution of the atmosphere. They will argue that this can only be achieved with a ‘New Enlightenment’ where a balance exists between humans and nature, between short term and long term and between public and private interests.
